Disease is mainly caused due to foreign substances entering our body and causing malfunction in various parts. The foreign substance may itself cause sign of worries, or may induce other metabolic activities to go wrong, ultimately causing disease. The point that is to be pondered is that how these foreign disease causing substances enters our body. Though there are numerous ways in which they can enter, finger nails are said to be one of the prime entrance for these disease causing elements.
Fingernails act as a gateway for many germs and disease causing elements. The tips of our nails are open and end directly to blood. Thus, any foreign substance getting into the tip of the nail, if somehow manages to enter more, can get into the blood stream. Apart from that, fingernail tips also contain germs accumulated which can enter into our system with food intake if hands are not washed properly.
Fingernails as sign of diseases:
Fingernails are also one of the most common ways of interpreting the malfunction in a human body. Looking at the shape, size, and appearance of the nail, one can get to know about a lot of disease occurring in the body. Here are few of the common examples that denote few major diseases.
· Yellow fingernails denote liver and kidney disorder.
· White lines across the fingernails can be a sign of liver disorder.
· When the fingernail is white, it can be either anemia or kidney disorder.
· Brittle nails are sign of Thyroid disorders and iron deficiency.
· If the tips of the fingernails are split and if the there are spots in it, the sign is of Psoriasis.
· Bending fingernails can be a sign of Rheumatoid Arthritis.
· An unusually wide nail which turns square in shape reflects hormonal disorder.
· If the nails are weak and crack easily, it means there is a deficiency of protein and minerals in the body.
