Ponytail is defined as a hairstyle where the hair is gathered with a ponytail holder. Whether your hair looks like a afro puff, if your hair is all gathered together, it's in a ponytail. It is the hairstyle in which most or all of the hair on the head is pulled away from the face, gathered and secured at the back of the head with a hair tie, clip or similar device, and allowed to hang freely from that point.
