Laser hair removal technique is the advanced method of hair removal. It contains beams of highly concentrated light to remove the hair and prevent the growth of the hair follicle for a long period of time.

• Ultimate Light™ or Pulsed Light (IPL)- It is a light based system which also works same as laser hair removal system and it includes machines like EpiLight, PhotoDerm, Quantum, Aculight, or Vasculight. Each of these machine has its different quality for example EpiLight is the most specific and advanced for hair removal and PhotoDerm is the original machine developed for successfully treating facial Rosacea.

• Diode Laser-Diode is the most recently introduced of the hair removal lasers. Diode laser system is most useful hair removal light source and the most promising laser for hair removal and it contains SLP 1000, F1 Diode, Light Sheer, MeDioStar, LaserLite, Epistar and Apex 800. Its wavwlength is longer than the Ruby and the Alexandrite but shorter than Nd: Yag laser.

• Nd: Yag-The Nd: Yag is capable of treating all six skin colors and it contains CoolGlide, Medlite IV, Varia, Athos, Lyra, and Image but there is no evidence that this system provides long term hair removal.

• Alexandrite-The Alexandrite laser has a shorter wavelength system and it contains GentleLASE, Apogee, and EpiTouch Plus. It causes side effects such as pigmentary changes or worse, for patients of all but white skin.
